Summer 2012, an amazing gorgeous perfect warm, yum, yum summer, resulted in my first driving topless experience.
In July my husband had a football/soccer injury which resulted in his left foot blowing up into a balloon. As the jeep is a standard drive he could no longer drive it until his foot recovered.
At the same time, my 17 year old son got his driving license, but only for an automatic.
This left my son to drive the “wimpy Kia” (Lincoln’s words) and for me to drive…”the husband’s” jeep.
I had never driven the jeep before…because it is “his” jeep. But necessity and circumstances put me behind the wheel.
I never thought anything of it until I was coming home one evening with the top down, on that clear starry warm evening where the heat wraps around you like a cozy warm blanket and realized that this was fabulous. With Adele at full blast, I felt like dumping my responsibilities, ROAD TRIPPING, buying a pack of smokes again and going to the nearest nightclub.
Why oh why? did removing some metal over my head, inspire me to want to do that? “It’s just a bloody roof for crying out loud” ….but….. as simple as that, I was in love.
In response to my new love, I wanted to share the topless driving experience with all my friends on Facebook by posting all summer what I called “The Jeep Episodes”. There were challenges in driving topless. For example, how do you get from A to B and still look good? Where do you put all the shopping? What music goes with the drive? Why did I wait so long to drive topless?
My jeep episodes appear to have encouraged one friend to go topless in September 2011. Nicky is now my first Topless Driving Husband, Wife and Daughter Team. Topless Drivers Unite! More on this later.
It is important to me that I express my “Thanks” to all my Facebook friends, their likes, dislikes, comments and compliments and all your encouragement to just “go for it”.
